About
Who We Are
Mark Miles, founder of AASIS, established the company in May 2017. With nearly 40 years of combined experience in physical security, law enforcement, and military service, Mark brings exceptional expertise and leadership to every operation. He has attended multiple FBI Anti-Terrorism workshops and is a proud graduate of the FBI Civilian Academy through the Baltimore Field Office.
For 13 years, Mark led the Jewish Federation and Hebrew Home of Greater Washington’s Security and Investigations Division, overseeing all aspects of threat management and protective strategy. A U.S. Army veteran and former infantry medic, Mark also served as a Maryland State Trooper and provided armed physical security for the Federal Government, specializing in electronic security systems and high-risk protection.
Mark Miles Jr. brings over 13 years of combined experience in security, law enforcement, and military service. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he served as a Security Forces Operator with overseas deployment experience. Mark Jr. began his security career with the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School, where he served for two years before joining the U.S. Air Force Reserves.
In 2016, he launched his law enforcement career with the Prince George’s County Police Department, serving in Oxon Hill, just outside Washington, D.C. His professionalism and dedication earned him multiple commendations, including Officer of the Quarter and the Veteran Police Award. Mark Jr. currently serves as a Sworn Police Detective with the Maryland-National Capital Park Police and maintains an active security clearance.
Both Mark Miles and Mark Miles Jr. hold valid Maryland Concealed Carry Permits.

Armed Security
All Armed Security Guards have Maryland handgun permits and Maryland guard cards. They are also certified in defensive weapons such as asp or baton, pepper spray. As well as self-defense training. Armed Security Guards are provided for Banks, highly sensitive commercial establishments, private schools, all types of religious institutions, jewelry stores, government services and high risk residential areas, special events etc.
Unarmed Security
Our Professional Security Guards will be there to provide access control services, conduct foot patrols as well as observe and report. All guards have Maryland guard cards. They receive substantial on the job training. Unarmed Guards are provided for commercial buildings, private day schools, nursing homes and lower risk residential areas, special events etc.
Off Duty Police Officers
Off Duty Police Officers are available for the highest level of armed security for Banks, highly sensitive commercial establishments, private schools, all types of religious institutions, jewelry stores, government services, special events, etc.
Investigative Services
Conduct background checks, investigate cheating spouses, internal theft investigations for retail stores, etc.
